ART TIME!!!

 On the last day of school, me and my class went to the art room for the morning and the afternoon. We did lots and lots of drawing for our bird art. I chose to do a cute little duck!

My friend Chloe said that my ducks wings that I drew look like surfboards so I just made my duck into a seagull and my seagull was a lifeguard :)

The easiest part of my art piece was drawing the small, medium, and large circles I also found it easy to draw the outline for my bird.

I found it hard to colour around the small,medium and large circles (because we used paint) I also found it hard to pick good colours for my lifeguard seagull!

Next time I go to the art room I think I should work on keeping my eyes on my learning and not looking or getting distracted by my friends,because my friends always make my laugh from the smallest things. 😂😂😂

I think this visit to the art room was very fun and very exciting, and I will most absolutley do this visit to the art room again!

Winter means SNOW!

 

This week on Thursday we were learning to write about what we think you would feel during winter time.

First we had to pick what we were going to write about and our choices were,Rain,Wind,Snow.

Next we had to Write about what we smell at winter what we hear at winter,what we see,and what we would never forget and others.

I found it easy to find a cute snowy background for this piece of writing. I also found it easy to write about all the different thing that I smelt and that I hear and also what I see.

For this writing piece I found it hard to finish in time because today I had to finish this piece of writing.

Next time for this writing piece I need to manage my time right by not talking to the people next to me or by getting distracted by them.

My koru!

 

Today for our writing we were learning to write about a koru and learning to put verbs and adjectives in our quick write. We were also learning to describe about how the koru pops out or what it likes to do in our opinion.

I found it easy to find the background for yesterdays writing. I also found it easy to write about how the koru plays and how it pops up! It was also easy to fit as much writing facts about how the koru plays and hows it pops up.

I found it hard to find a colour that stands out and that you can see in my background like the colour white.

next time I think I need to spend less time on picking my background and less time on picking the colour for my words. Next time I also think I need to add some more verbs and adjectives.

What makes a good blog comment?

 

We were learning to recognise a quality blog comment and give reasons for our thinking.

 I found it easy to read the the different comments and know right away if they are good or bad blog comments.

I found it hard to make the comments on the side having to explain the reason why we choose it was good or bad. I also found it hard to get the arrows because they could not tilt to the side so i had to use and line instead of making the arrows tilt.

 We used whaiwhakaaro and Mahi tahi to explain my thinking to others, justify my thinking,and for mahi tahi we used do my fair share.

Next time I need to make more and better reasons for why I picked the comment to be a good one or a bad one.

Authors purpose.

 

We were learning about what an Authors purpose is and how to read about what the Author means in their story. Our learning assets were Kairangahau and kaiwhakarite.

I found it easy to read the story and answer all of the questions on our slides.

Road safety.

 

We were learning to create a road safety advertisement for road safety week. We were also learning to create media. We also learnt to use mahi tahi witch means to work well in a group of people even if they are not your friends.

I found it easy to think of easy and fun ideas for me and my group to video for our movie. I also found it easy to use our time good so we had lots of time to write about it.

Next time I need to video more and let the person who was videoing have a longer turn to be in the movie to.  

Reflecting on writing.

 

For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

Dancing with the stars

 Last week we were learning to work together as a team. We had to dance to rock & roll and make up our own moves. The song we danced to was Jailhouse Rock. We were also learning to help each other if somebody felt like it wasn't going to work or if we did not add a move because we added to much and we might forget.

I found it easy to think of some dance moves that we could use in our dancing. I also found it easy to put all of our dancing in order by listening to the beat of the music over and over again to get the rhythm. It was also easy to fix up all of our mistakes that we had made.

I found it hard to not laugh when we were up dancing in front of everyone. I also found it hard to make some of the dance moves. It was also hard to get our moves right without forgetting a move.

I really enjoyed dancing in front of everyone even though at the start when we were about to go up it was really scary. I also enjoyed making up the dance moves and I also enjoyed doing all our dance moves up and down and all around the stage that we had to dance on.

Next time I need to use my time more carefully and I also need to add more dance moves in because we have a time that we have to get up to. 

Our respect photos!

 

 

We were learning to be respectful by taking photos of how to move around respectfully,using manners anywhere we go,Taking car of my own belongings and other kids belongings to,respecting people know matter who they are or what the look like,and keeping our hands and legs to ourselves.  This is all part of what RESPECT looks like on a behaviour matrix.

I found it easy to think of the places we can take all of the photos at. It was also easy to edit our photos on PIC-COLLAGE and pick the background for it. 

I also found it easy to write down all the words and pick the colours for them and it was also easy to make up all of our poses for the photos.

I found it hard to pick the type of font for our writing. I also found it hard to take the right photo that had all of us looking at the camera and looking normal by not laughing. It was also hard because we needed to show everyone in the photo because sometimes only somebody's head or arm shows in the photo.

I really enjoyed doing respect photos with all my friends and writing the words and the font that goes with all the words. I also enjoyed being in the photos with my friends and also taking turns of what colour the words are going to be.

Next time I need to take turns with my friends even if things are to hard or even if I don't want to it.

Our korowai art!

        We were learning to be a communicator by working in different groups of people. We were also learning to help each other and not fight with our groups if we did something wrong or messed up. We  were also learning to use the colours that were next to each other or across from each other on the colour wheel.

I found it easy to paint the feathers and cut them out. I also found it easy to communicate with my group and learn with them. I also found it easy to make the feathers by drawing them with with crayon. It was also easy to make different patterns on all the feathers. 

Bio-poem.

        We were learning about how to make a Bio-poem. First we had to move our bio-poem to our folder and name it. Next we had to write a whole description about us. And then we had to take a photo of our self and send it to the back of the page. And finally last but not least we got to make all the writing the colour of our choice.𛲣

I found to easy to write about myself for all the things that I love or like to do. I also found it easy to change the colour of my words and changing the font. Next I found it easy to fix up all of my spelling mistakes and getting onto the camera. And last I found it easy to take my photo and send it to the back.

I found it hard to think about what to write. 

Chromebook comic

 We had to create a comic to show others how to care for their chromebook.  We used the Comix website to do this.
